the Tourstage is very easy to fade, difficult to hook the XD 460 is a great sounding/feeling clubhead the Tourstage produces a LOW ballflight and is most definately longer than the Callaway

#CALLAWAY ERC FUSION REVIEWS DRIVERS#
Yesterday, I took both drivers out to my course and hit shots with each one on many different holes, using the same type balls. I have an 10.5 degree ERC Hyper with a Speeded 656 custom installed by Callaway, regular flex and a 10.5 Tourstage X Drive 460 with Ozik TP-7 regular flex shaft. Slap a Roddio or Axiv or somthing that works for your swing into it and you got yourself a great feeling and performing driver. My list of the best drivers available in my personal order: Yes they are made at ENDO JAPAN confirmed by Callaway USA. Who's next?Īnyhow, I guess I'm off to sell my FT-5 on ebay. Tadd Fujikawa already replaced his FT-5 with a Hyper ERC. Makes me wonder.if Callaway can create such a great driver without Fusion Technology, will there be a future for Fusion Technology. Again, it's performance drew a few looks. I put a weaker grip on it and found that I can fade the ball on occasion. The Hyper ERC will send a ball down the range with a slight draw. I tend to duck hook my FT-5 every now and then. On looks alone, it got a lot peeks at the driving range.ĭistance, the Hyper ERC won easily by 10+ yards.

Chris said it was forged in Endo, Japan, and it looks like a lot of care was taken in making it. The Hyper ERC has a taller face height, and according to Chris, sets up 0.5 degrees closed. I took it to the range and compared it to my FT-5 with a Speeder 586 in it. I got my Hyper ERC with the Speed Axis S shaft this past Monday. Still a great club but my vote is Callaway! Edited Maby Henry If anyone is interest in the Epon, please IM me. I agree with Blader-X that the Epon has many "upgrades" as the look and grip is better in the Epon but imo, the Hyper Driver is more forgiving and goes farther (at least for me). I also have the Epon 460 Driver that I have hit as well. Have not ducked it yet so I am very pleased with the performance of this driver. With the Hyper Driver, my push shots tend not to be as far right as the ball wants to draw.

My swing fault is swinging a little too much inside out so my mis**ts will be either a duck hook or push way to the right. As I said, very little distance loss on off center hits but the sound is a little more muted. When you hit it square, the sound at impact is louder than if you hit it off center. It does have a "hollow" bang at impact which you have to get use to. I am hitting it just as far as if it was mid summer at the course I play which is wet now so I anticipate hitting my drives farther. You can hit it just about anywhere on the face and the ball will fly. By far, the easiest club I have ever hit. I have to say the honeymoon period has started with my Hyper ERC Driver. Suppose to snow again so I won't be able to provide any further information for a few weeks. To early to tell distance but feel at impact and looks is very good and pleasing. It has a louder "bang" and definetly not as muted as Epon or Tourstage.Ĥ. Sound at impact is much, much different than Epon and Tourstage. The Hyper Driver imo, is deeper face but not as deep as the Epon or Tourstage.ģ. Head size more like what I saw on in pictures of the ERC 3 compared to the US version of the Callaway 460 X or FT-5.

Stock shaft is interesting as near the grip end of the shaft, it is an off white color leading to a darker shade. I was able to hit a few balls with the Callaway and first impressions are as follows:ġ. I got the Epon a few months ago and have only hit it a limited number of times. This shaft is much lighter compared to my current drivers which I have (Tourstage x-405, Epon 460) It will be interesting to compare the Callaway to the Epon. Just received the Callaway Hyper ERC Driver. I got my Hyper ERC Driver and posted the following in the Driver Review section of the forum last week: I am still not computer savy when trying to add pics to a reply.
